William Elston-Rose peacefully passed away on May 11, 2007 at the age of 90 in Victoria, BC. He was born in London, England on September 10, 1916, to Margaret and William Rose.
Upon graduating with a degree in Mechnical Engineering from the University of London, he was commissioned as an officer in the British Royal Navy during World War II, and served in North Africa. When the family immigrated to Canada in 1953 he went to work for Kingsway Transport, Montreal, Quebec, rising to the Executive Level, and subsequent to that, Director of Acquisition and Purchasing for Canada Steamship Lines, Montreal, Quebec.
He leaves behind his loving wife Helen; two daughters and their spouses: Margaret Ofiesh (John) from Victoria, BC, and Sandra Warren (James) from Upper Marlboro, MD, USA;three loving grandsons: Jordan Ofiesh, from Victoria, BC, and James Aaron Warren and Shane William Warren, from Upper Marlboro, MD, USA; and two loving great-grandchildren, James Antonio Warren and Shae-Lynn Erin Warren.
Thank you to the doctors , nurses and all others involved in his care over this past month.
