A kind and gentle soul, Vivian left us to be with The Lord in her 91st year.
Vivian was born in the family home on Hollywood Crescent, the same home she lived in most of her life. She was the second of two children born to her parents, Clifford and Margaret Lydia Bales.
After graduating from Victoria College, Vivian taught school in Hope, Burnaby, Williams Lake, and Victoria up to her retirement.
An avid reader and occasional short story writer, Vivian always enjoyed conversing with friends, and she was especially fond of animals.
Vivian was predeceased by her brother, Russell, in 1947 and she is lovingly remembered by her son, George.
Interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.

Sharon Collier I was saddened to read about the passing of Vivian Bales. Miss Bales was my grade two teacher at Marlborough Elementary School in Burnaby in 1958. I have always remembered her with fondness … she was a caring teacher who had a lovely manner with her students.
I became an elementary school teacher and I believe that the positive influence of teachers such as Miss Bales in my early years was certainly a factor in my choice of career.
My sincere condolences to the family of Miss Bales.Sharon Collier
