Peacefully Verne went to the other world to join his Mom (Jocelyn Dunn), Dad (Walter Buchan) Brothers (Allan and Brian Buchan) along with Grandparent (Patricia and Joseph Luchinsky) Aunt (Daphney) Uncle (Cliff), cousin (Matthew) many Friends including (Gail). Verne will be deeply missed by his only child (Jayden “Jessica” Scroetter) Sisters (Cynthya Cenciarini and Vivian Finnerty) Cousins Veronica, Clinton, Maryanne, Joe, Mark. Nieces and Nephews Tony (kim), Amanda, Melissa, Alison, Tasha, Josh, Casey, Emily. Great nieces and nephews Peyton, Ashton, Sienna and Gideon, Brian, Emmett, Aries, Denver, Luscious, Christian, Ryan, Jaxson, and more relatives, Brandy Buchan, Beverly, Naomi, Christopher, Joe, Trevor, Elaine and many long-time friends.
Verne loved nature, drawing, older cars, gardening, and making beautiful jewelry that many have pieces of in the community of Victoria BC. He was well known for riding bicycles. He had a small two-wheeler at the age of two. Till the day he passed enjoyed riding long distances. He loved to work on and build bikes. He was a great, handy man and a drywaller by trade. Cared and was in service to others. Listened to many kinds of music from rock, jazz, folk and pop. YouTube on TV was fun for him and Anne of Green Gables was one series he watched.
With his big kind heart. We have lost a sweet person who loved children in the family and always would bring a deck of cards to family events to engage with them. He was a wonderful Dad always doing what he was able to do and cared a lot for Jaden with love. Also, a great friend. He lived with his sister Cynthya the last three years. They looked after each other. I know you will be waiting for us all with your funny jokes, helping hand many stories to tell. Please watch over us all, especially Jaden. It has been a hard time for Jaden who loved her dad so much. Rest in peace till we meet again.

Now that Verne has passed away, of course there is emptiness and pain, confusion and maybe even anger at death coming to a man only 59 years old. In many ways, the gift of Verne’s life is still here with us. He lives on in our and stories and what all of us saw in him. SO I encourage you to share today, tomorrow and in the years to come- your memories and stories, and the pain of your lose as well. This way we will keep the gift of Verne’s life alive. All ways in my heart my brother.
