It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sueli (Sue) Dos Anjos Pereira (nee Amaral) after a brief illness. She passed peacefully on July 1, 2022, surrounded by her family. Sueli was predeceased by her infant sister Edna, her father Jaime (2012), and mother Maria (2020). She is survived by her daughters and loves of her life, Denise, and Jennifer; her brothers Delson, and Marco; niece Cheyenne, nephews Tyler, and Noah, as well as her previous husband, Carlos.
Sueli was born on August 24, 1959 in São Paolo, Brasil. At fourteen years old, she emigrated to Victoria BC. Upon arrival in Canada, she excelled at learning English so quickly that she
received recognition for such in the local newspaper. She loved school and learning. This led her towards a career in the medical industry, as both a pharmacy assistant, and medical office assistant. She also worked for the BC Government.
Sueli had incredible talents in cooking and baking, and in her younger years enjoyed hosting many barbecues for friends and family. She loved to read, write, and had a passion for music. It was being a mother however, that was her greatest pride and joy. She loved her girls more than life itself, and provided unwavering dedication, encouragement, and presence. More than a mother, she was truly their best friend. Her girls feel blessed to have had a mother like her.
Sueli was an exceptionally kind soul which was reflected in her ability to express compassion and empathy for others. Her positive energy radiated and drew others in; this made her loved by many, as she was gifted in being able to easily connect with others. The epitome of selfless, Sueli consistently did everything for her family, always putting others before herself. She had a unique ability to express gratitude for the little things in life, be it pausing to marvel at the brilliant colours in the sky, or appreciating a beautiful summer’s night.
Sueli faced many obstacles throughout her life, but despite this, was the definition of resilient. Her strength, positivity, and courage is a true inspiration to all who knew her.
Our beautiful earth angel is now our heavenly angel. You will live in us for eternity. “Vai com deus” until we meet again. You are loved and missed more than words can convey.
Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4635 Elk Lake Drive on Friday, July 8th, 2022 at 2:00pm with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park. A viewing will be held at the church at 1:30pm.

Megan Sampson Thinking of Sue’s family and friends during this devastating time. I had the pleasure of working with Sue. She was a lovely lady…warm smile and hugs. She had the most beautiful cozy sweaters in the fall and winter. Her makeup was always on point and she always smelled really nice. She organized some EPIC office Christmas parties for all the ladies at work at the Fireside Grill in beautiful Royal Oak. She definitely acted as a hostess at these parties and kept good conversations going around the table.
She loved to talk about her family and motherhood. It was clear that Sue’s family was the most important thing to her, especially her daughters. My deepest condolences, love Megan.
