BULMAN-FLEMING Stanley Earnest – Stan was born in Vernon, BC in 1919 and passed away on April 22, 2004 in Victoria after suffering a massive stroke. Stan joined the BC Police in 1940 as a radio operator, serving in Revelstoke and Vancouver. He subsequently became a communications technician and, upon being transferred to Kelowna, was responsible for setting up a radio communications network stretching from Hope to Revelstoke. The BC Police was subsumed by the RCMP in the early 1950s, and from 1956 until his retirement in 1972, Stan served in that force as a technical supervisor in Victoria. Stan leaves his beloved wife, Isabel, and was an ideal father to sons, Sydney (Barbara) of Waterloo, ON, and Brian (Margaret) of White Rock. He was a much treasured grandfather to Andy, Jon and Neil, and to Julie, Ashley and David and great grandfather to young Stan. Stan will be sorely missed by his neighbours on Dalhousie Street, to whom he provided constant humour and, when needed, any amount of assistance in emergency situations. Cremation. There will be a private family service only. The family expresses sincere gratitude to doctors and staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
