I am glad I got to know Sardul S. Gil, he was a very nice friend! If He passed by where I live, he will knocked the door and say “Hi!, how are you doing?” Memories are a timeless treasure… never forget!

  • Margaret Palmer

My father Carl Palmer worked with Sardul in the Revenue Canada office before we all moved to Ottawa in the early 1960’s. In the late 1970’s Dad retired from Revenue Canada and he and Mum moved back to Victoria. He always mentioned how smart Sardul was , astute in investing in real estate and a nice fellow. Dad died in 2009 but he would have been very pleased to read of the generous gift to UVIc.
    My sincere condolences.

    To the Gill Family.

I had the pleasure of dealing with and assisting your father in various business transactions over 20 plus years, perhaps most notably his company acquisition of the buildings on Broughton Street. In later years, he would share his time when we ran into each other at the gym at Oak Bay Recreation.

He was always more than fair in his dealings and above all modest, and always happy when prompted to share a story or two. He reminded me alot of my own father who we lost earlier this month as well with his actions of frugality, a valued personality trait I would tease him about. In particular I admired his willingness to walk a few extra blocks to attend a meeting downtown if it meant he did not have to pay for parking on the street.

I am privileged to have known and spent time with your father Sardul.

    Sorry for your loss.

    regards,
    Clinton (Clint) Wark

    Dear Kevin, Robin and Amir

Our sincere condolences on the passing of your father.

Our parents always recalled, with fondness, the many trips and social gatherings they shared with your parents.

Your father was an intelligent and well read man. He knew the importance of hard work, giving back to the community and the value of a dollar. The wider community benefitted from his silent gifts that provided need and comfort. The academic community was supported by your father’s generosity. He believed, that one of the wisest investments was to contribute to the field of academics.

I recall, the importance your father’s parents. A lot of your father’s generosity was paying homage to them.
