Surrounded by her loving family, Shirley passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on Friday, Jun 3. She will be greatly missed by her husband Michael, sons Ross (Alison) and Stephen (DJ),  daughter Patricia (Vik), grandchildren Cameron, Ashley, Elizabeth, Catherine, Kelvin and Nelina, great grandchildren Isabelle, Jakob and Mara and her brother Ray Salmon (Ann).

Born in Port Alberni in 1936, Shirley spent her childhood first in Bamfield and then Victoria, where she met and married the love of her life, Mike. Together, the two of them lived in many different cities in Canada, from Whitehorse to Goose Bay, having adventures and raising a family. After Mike’s retirement, they had the opportunity to continue their adventures and traveled extensively. Mike and Shirley celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year.

Shirley leaves behind many good friends, several of whom she met through her dollhouse miniature club. She was well known in the club for “Rosetown”, a miniature village she had created in her home.

Our heartfelt condolences to you Michael and your family. We miss Shirley very much. I have Shirley’s beautiful Chemist Shop and Library. Shirley’s miniature work was the first to inspire me as a new miniaturist in 2008. Her kindness and sense of humor will always be cherished by us. Love Lena & Lawrence
