Our father Raymond Francis Dick passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital 21 December 2023 at the age of 89.  Raymond was born 14 August 1934 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  He was the oldest of 4 children.  Predeceased by his wife Norma, parents Eva and Cornelius Dick, sister Marion and brothers Arthur and Bernard.  Survived by his sons Stephen (Johanne), Michael (Carole), daughters Brenda (Charlie), Julie (Wayne) and Cindy, grandchildren Victoria, Amanda, Christopher, Celena, Bradly, great-grandson Grayson and many nieces and nephews.

Raymond served in the RCAF from 1951 to 1985.  From 1955 to 1957 he was attached to The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the European Theatre.  He retired with the rank of Warrant Officer.  His 2nd career was 12 years with the Corps of Commissionaires, ten of those at the Forestry Research Centre.

He was an avid gardener, loved working with wood in making bird houses, windmills, his famous Gene Autry wishing well and wooden gloves for his family.

Dad is smiling, as he is reunited with Norma, his angel, singing “You are my sunshine”.  Their song for 65 years.

Ray’s family would like to thank the staff at Victoria General 6th floor north for their excellent compassionate care and empathy.
