December 9, 1920 – June 16, 2008
Phyllis Evelyn (nee Deeble) passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Victoria General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Earl in 1999 and her beloved son, Peter in 1947. She was a devoted mother and deeply loved by her children, Dawn (Norm) Davidson, Cathy Awalt, Joanne Denniston, David (Ada) Sarsiat; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters one brother and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Phyllis always enjoyed having her family around her, walking in the woods and at the beach and being a longtime member of Eastern Star and The Women’s Auxilary at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. We would like to extend a special thanks for the wonderful homecare workers from Beacon (Juan de Fuca) Homecare and the caring staff at VGH 6D North.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 1379 Esquimalt Road, Victoria, BC at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 3, 2008 with Cannon Andrew Gates officiating. Tea and refreshments to follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Phyllis’ memory to the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society. 4484 Marine Avenue, Powell River, BC V8A 4Z6.
