Pauline passed away with grace and beauty, held forever with love and tenderness by her family.
Predeceased by her husband Frank in 2016 and son Karl in 1995.
Mom/Oma will be deeply missed by her daughters: Monica (John), Angela, Lisa (Kim) and grandchildren: Sam (Jen), Sally (Toby), Rosa (Nikko), Jeff (Maria), Robbie (Kandra), Grace, Christian (Eliza) – grandchildren who grew up in Victoria under her loving watchful eyes.
Pauline was born in Ukraine, surviving the hardships of those turbulent times, then immigrating to Canada at the age of 22 to begin a better life. While living in Kelowna, she met and married her sweetheart Frank to whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage. Her strength, resilience, work ethic and charisma enabled her to overcome many barriers and challenges during her life. She was practical, organized, and meticulous in all her endeavors. Her family enjoyed the beautiful home, finely crafted meals, exquisite baking, and the lovely gardens she created. She gave her children many wonderful family traditions at Easter, birthdays and Christmas which left them feeling so well loved. They saw her entertain, volunteer, and manage rental properties all while raising her family. She was very, very busy.
Pauline was an exceptional woman and a feminist through and through. She demonstrated compassion and a loving acceptance in a way that touched her extensive family in Canada, the U.S. and Europe as well as her many, many friends and acquaintances. Always known for her touch, her hugs, and a kiss for all. Please think of Pauline while taking a walk through your favourite gardens. Finnerty Gardens, Government House and the Oak Bay Rose Garden were some of her favourites.
A private family interment will take place in May with Father William Hann presiding.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Victoria Hospice or Our Place Society.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Dear Angela, Monica, Lisa and family,
Our thoughts are with you during this sad time. Pauline was a wonderful neighbour to all of us in the St. David Street area. She was always cheerful, thoughtful, down to earth, up to date on world events and fun to be with. She also had a knack for giving loving, sincere hugs. She was so very proud of all her family and their accomplishments. May happy memories of times spent with her help in the days to come. Hugs to all, Pat and Roger Garman
