Patricia left us suddenly on June 3rd at the age of 75. She leaves behind many friends and staff at Community Living Victoria where she had lived for the past 42 years. Patricia was the only child of Francis and Stewart Hill and a lifelong resident of Langford and Victoria. After her father died, Patricia lived with her mother until 1980, when she moved to Springwood – which was a large home in the beautiful Mount Newton valley. Patricia moved into CLV’s Redfern home when Springwood downsized in 1989. During her later years, she needed a more accessible home and Burnside home was there for her – providing her with new friends, caring and compassionate staff, and many good times and memories. A huge thank you to all of the CLV family for the wonderful support Patricia has received throughout her life.
Patricia was always a sensitive and caring person, especially to her favorite friends and housemates over the years– Gail, Brenda, Sharon and Susan to name but a few. She had a big heart and cared deeply when anyone was unhappy or not feeling well.
Patricia had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed vacations to Seattle, Hawaii and Parksville. She enjoyed fine dining, going out for coffee, and shopping! She adored buying new clothes and having her hair done. She was a lover of bagpipe music. She also loved animals of every kind – dogs, cats, birds- and nature. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved a good prank, and her loud laughter was contagious. She lived her life with a sense of joy and zest!
She will be missed by all who knew her. Please join us for a Celebration of Patricia’s Life in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 10:00 am.
