I have come across your Obituary to Pat and whilst I never knew her, I wish you every strength while you come to terms with her loss. A friend found this website whilst we were searching for a very old friend KATHY COLLIS (Nee Freeman) with whom I was friendly with while at school in Cape Town and kept in contact with every 3 to 5 years or so. My letter came back from her address in Sooke road stating I should try Victoria University – can you help me make contact with her if she is your daughter-in-law? I would be most grateful.
    With kindest regards
    Bev Gregory

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Collis. I grew up on MacKenzie Avenue in Victoria and Lyn was my best friend until my family moved to Duncan when I was 14. My memories of Mrs. Collis are of a kind, warm hearted, involved mother who made extraordinary cookies! She was a inspiring leader to myself and other girls in CGIT. I have very fond remembrances of being included in family fun at the Collis home. My sincere condolences to the family. I lost touch with Lyn when I moved away but would be interested in hearing from her if she’d like to contact me.

I was sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. I remember her as the most grounded, cheerful person I have met. She was in love with her family and surroundings and always seemed so filled up with life. I remember going out to pick blueberries, see the fairlike tiny cabin and enjoy the simplicity of life in the Sooke countryside. I think of her love and her laughter and give thanks. All my thoughts go to you today Don and family as you gather. God Bless each and every one. love Barbara Jane
