It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of my life’s partner and best friend, Wayne McArthur. He passed away on July 29, 2024 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital after visiting with his loving wife of 54 years, Donna and daughter Robyn. He also leaves behind many more beloved family members, children Victor, Kelly and Robyn (Mitch), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many who will be toasting and celebrating him at every family party….and there will be parties!
He was dynamic and remarkable in so many ways. He encouraged young entrepreneurship and helped where he could so they had a strong start in life. In later years, home and family life became very important to him as did philanthropy.
He admired and took pride in many fancy sports cars, Ferrari, McClaren & Jaguars come to mind. Sadly, when his mobility let him down, he became unable to enter and exit these beauties with any panache.
The last two years have weighed heavy on us in so many ways. Odd that I can say thankfully he is at rest in a better place. He will certainly be missed.
Thank you to many who guided us along the way, Dr. Sunil Parimi, Dr. Anthony Nielsen and all the hard working medical staff.
A Memorial service will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens Funeral Home, 4665 Falaise Drive on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 2:00pm followed by reception.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Arthur Thevarge Aunt Donna
I want to send my deepest condolences to you and to Robyn. I wasn’t able to make it to Uncle Wayne’s celebration due to work and holidays…It had been so long since I had last seen all of you and would like to see you soon, my wife Ana and I had plans to come to the Island but plans fell through.
Uncle Wayne.
I didn’t get to see you since the Family reunion we had at your place on the ocean I don’t remember the year, but I was there with my Mom Terry. We played Volley Ball and some other events, it was a fun time. I wish I got to know you better than I did, I enjoyed our short time there and the ride on your boat when you almost lost Aunt Donna out the side of the boat when the boat zigged and zagged.
Rest in Peace uncle Wayne.

Paul Barker I had the pleasure of working with Wayne at Grayline Victoria in the early 1980s .
I have many fond memories of Wayne mentoring me during those busy times at Grayline .
When I was just twenty something he asked me to pick up his Jaguar convertible at the airport and bring it into town ,
Being a young man I wss thrilled to do this for him
I really enjoyed my time working with him . He was a great mentor , teaching me good work ethics while always treating me with respect and kindness .
My condolences to the family.

Judi Evans Wayne was my Cousin. Although older than me I always looked forward to having him and Donna join us at a gathering. He had a great laugh and sense of humour. Although I haven’t seen him as much as I would like to have in the last years – I thought of him often and remembered his kind and generous spirit.
Rest well Wayne.
