Pauline Summers was born at Rouleau, Saskatchewan on October 10, 1907, to William A. Summers and Lucretia Hyndman (nee Sipes) Summers.
Pauline moved with her parents and one sister to a homestead near Dahinda, Sask. In 1910.
In 1917 Mr. & Mrs. Summers and their three daughters moved to Yorkton, Sask., where Mr. Summers traveled in the surrounding area for the Rawleigh Company for over thirty years.
Pauline and her sister attended, in Yorkton, the Virginal Victoria Public School, and the Yorkton Colligate Institute, graduating with grade XII certificates.
Pauline spent nine months in the Saskatoon Normal School beginning her teaching career in 1929.
