It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Ruth Weber on July 30, 2023. Marie was always happy, full of laughs and enjoyed life to its fullest.

Marie was born March 22, 1931, in Goderich, Huron Co. Ontario. Shortly after, Marie’s Mother Ruth and Father Gar fell on hard times and began living at their parent’s working farm while Gar worked as a traveling salesman. Later moving to Welland, Ontario, where Marie’s brother Bob was born.

At age 15 Marie moved with her family to Walkerton, Ontario, where she met Ron Weber and they were married in Marie’s parent’s house on June 12, 1950.

Ron joined the Canadian Armed Forces moving the family to postings in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and 2 separate postings in Germany.

Ron’s final posting was to Comox B.C. in 1981, retiring in Comox in 1987.

Marie was very active with the Royal Canadian Legion and Eastern Star. During their retirement Marie & Ron enjoyed being snowbirds in Yuma, Arizona, and many other adventures along the way, including camping with friends on Vancouver Island.

After Ron’s passing, Marie moved to Langford, B.C., where Marie continued to be involved with Langford’s Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 40 plus years. Marie enjoyed being part of all the family gatherings and grandkids weddings.

Marie is survived by her daughter Brenda (John) and Grandchildren Blair Robert (Kelly), Leanne Kayla (Cass), Christopher Michael and Great Granddaughter Alice Marie, her brother Bob and nephews, nieces and cousins. Marie was predeceased by son Johnny, Father Gar, Mother Ruth and husband Ron.
