It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Margaret (Peggy) Capek who passed away on August 7, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on June 22, 1928, in Victoria, BC, she grew up in Metchosin, BC.
She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband William (Bill) Capek, and a devoted mother to her children Donna and Glen. Peggy lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for art, drawing, writing books and children’s illustrations. She was an honorary member of the Victoria Sketch Club and past president. She enjoyed hosting their annual blackberry parties for neighbors.
Peggy was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality.
She is survived by her son Glen (Debra), grandchildren Cameron (Kasia), Graham and great grandchild Ethan, who will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held Monday, August 19, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria.
Peggy you will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Those many years we would all drop over to your house to meet up and begin our evening or to just hang out and play games hold a special place in my heart. She was an amazing artist as well and used to show me some of her work. We are sorry we cannot attend her celebration of life as we are in Alberta however know that we will be thinking and praying for you all. May the Lord hold her close in His hands. ❤️

Chris Jones I am sad to hear of Peggy’s passing. I knew her when she was a regular exerciser at Henderson Rec. I remember her interest in art and often attended the exhibitions during spring break. She was a caring, interesting and good friend. I will miss her.
Peggy-genuine, sincere, radiant, alongside her beaming Bill…. treasured members of St. Peter’s, Lakehill! “Precious in God’s sight”… AND mine! I often remember her through the ‘DATES’ calendar artistry she made for me and the retirement booklet cover she designed. A Capek reunion on high, in a heavenly chorus!! Blessings, David Fuller (Rev.), former Rector
