On the evening of March 5, 2016, at home and in the presence of her family, Margaret Aeneid Harwood (Nee McKechnie) passed away peacefully. “Archie” as she was known by family and friends will be greatly missed. Our Mother had a resilient tenacity for life and placed family ahead of all things. A nurse, business women, social worker, advocate, and volunteer, she often gave more of herself proving the old adage that the sum can be greater than the parts.

Deeply missed by her husband of 56 years, Dave Harwood and her three children, Douglas, Gwyneth, and James; her sisters, Anne, Joan, Mary Ellen and brother, Neil; her grandchildren, Shane, Melissa, Hunter and Maddison, who all welcome you to join us at 3905 Hobbs Street in Victoria B.C. at 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 to celebrate her life with us.

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Dave and family. Archie was a classmate at Victoria High School and graduated with me in 1954. I remember her well as she was always smiling and was so pleasant to everyone. I’m unable to make her celebration of life but would like you to know that I will be thinking of you all at this most difficult time. I know she will be missed. Most sincerely, Val Coulter, (nee Speed)

Dave and family, I was so sad to read of Archie’s passing.
I have such wonderful memories of Archie, working with her all those years – she was great to work with and always took such an interest in my family – we first met 36 years ago when my son arrived and she covered my caseload while I was on mat leave.
She was so committed to her clients and they knew it,and deeply appreciated her.

I look forward to seeing you on sunday. My heart goes out to you Dave and to all the family.
    with deepest sympathy,mary lynch

My thoughts and prayers are with every member of the family, including Archie’s sisters, her brother, her three children and her four grandchildren. Dave and Archie always welcomed me into the family and into their home. Archie made the most delicious cakes, including the one for my marriage to her brother in law, Allan.
