In Loving Memory of Manuela Raposo.
With heavy hearts, we announce that Manuela, surrounded by her loved ones and in her home, went peacefully to heaven on July 27, 2023. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Manuela is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Tony, daughter, Veronica (Dominque), grandchildren Katana (George) and Noah, sister Armanda, nieces Anizoret (Lyle), Anelia (Scott), Carla (Alain), Guida (Joao Pedro), and many more nieces and nephews, and her loved grand-dog Phoebe. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Manuela was born into a close-knit family in Ponta Garça, São Miguel, on May 26, 1947. With her loving husband and 9-month-old baby, in her lap, they immigrated to Victoria, BC in 1974, where they started their new journey as a family. Manuela had an unwavering passion for camping, travelling, playing cards, and spending quality time with her family.
Her family and friends fondly remember her enthusiasm for singing in the church choir, organizing dinners during camping trips, and making sure every moment was cherished. One of her greatest joys was contributing to the Portuguese Community, bringing people together, and creating a sense of warmth and joy.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Manuela, we find comfort in the thought that she is now reunited with her departed family in a place of eternal peace. Her radiant smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will forever guide us as we navigate the journey of life without her physical presence.
Manuela and Tony walked the path of love and companionship for an inspiring 50 years, leaving behind a beautiful example of commitment and devotion.
Let us remember her with laughter and love, keeping her spirit alive through the stories we share. As we grieve her loss, we celebrate the profound impact she had on each of us, and we will carry her memory with us always.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Manuela. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The Funeral Service will be conducted by Father Alfredo Monacelli at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4635 Elk Lake Dr, Victoria, on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. (rosary at 10:30 a.m.), followed by the interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.
