Madeline Teo born June 10, 1940 in Singapore, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024.  Madeline will be remembered and sadly missed by her husband, Henry; sister, Agnes; daughter, Mary-Anne; son, Jeremy (Ida); grandchildren, Victoria and Evan. Madeline and Henry would be celebrating their 62nd anniversary in July of this year.

Madeline, Henry, and their children immigrated to Canada from Singapore in 1976.  Madeline valued education and was a teacher, herself, at the beginning of her career.  She then accomplished multiple designations through her work at Mutual Life of Canada until her retirement. In 2005, Madeline and Henry moved to Victoria to be closer to their daughter.

Madeline loved music throughout her life, especially playing the piano, Omnichord, and singing.  She led choirs in her church and made many lifelong friends.  Madeline’s other passion was playing golf, and she shared this passion with her husband, Henry. They played golf almost every day during their retirement.  Madeline had a competitive side, and it was not surprising for her to win many of her tournaments.

At the heart of it all, Madeline was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking and sharing South East Asian foods for all to enjoy.

A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 10am at St. Elizabeth Church, 10030 Third St, in Sidney, BC, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation.  Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I didn’t have the privilege of knowing Madeline for too long, nor did I have too many opportunities to interact with her, but the times I did I was always blessed by her cheerful attitude. May she now rest in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and may He say to her “Well done, good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25:23 ESV)
