November 27, 1922 – March 18, 2012
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Lorraine Lee, who died suddenly and peacefully on March 18 in Victoria. Lily was born in Vancouver on November 27, 1922, the third of seven children. She was educated in the Vancouver school system, graduating from Grandview High School in Commerce. She met her husband, Jack through mutual friends and married in 1946. After raising three children, she began working at the Chinese Village Restaurant, a family business. Many will remember her smiling face and warm welcome at the front desk for over thirty years and she worked up to the final day in 1998. She enjoyed her retirement years relaxing, visiting with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with Jack until his passing in August 2011. In late 2011, Lily moved into Parkwood Court, where she made many friends with fellow residents and staff. She was revitalized in her new home, and enjoyed going out for a monthly lunch with her old friends. Lily is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Eugene); her sons Randy (Leslie) and Robert (Karina); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At her request, a private family service was held. A Celebration of Lily’s Life will be held at Uplands Golf Club, 3300 Cadboro Bay Road, on Saturday, April 21st from 2 pm to 4 pm. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation. Thank you to all the staff at Parkwood Court for their loving care. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Shirley Nault To the family: I was so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I knew Mrs. Lee from the Chinese Village, a gracious host, and I also became to know her well, from when she shopped at Gibson’s Ladies Wear. I helped Mrs Lee select her outfits and knew her kind of dresses she liked. We missed the Chinese Village after it closed. What a wonderful lady and will be missed by family and friends. Sincerey, Matt and Shirley Nault

What a wonderful person Mrs. Lee was along with her fabulous, husband Jack. Growing up as a kid in the neighbourhood, the Lee family was always very special to me. I don’t remember any discourse with their family, just never ending love. Randy, Barb and Rob were very lucky to have such loving parents. I can only imagine that the same love was extended to their grandchildren. The Lee family are beautiful people, I am so happy for the time I spent with Mr. and Mrs. Lee. They were truly kind, generous and loving people.
