Lillian Anna Koski, affectionately known as Anna, passed away on July 4, 2024, in Nanaimo, BC, at the age of 86.  Born on July 27, 1937, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Anna’s journey led her to touch many lives with her kindness, compassion and ever-present humor.

Anna embarked on her career in nursing in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, which was only the beginning of her diverse professional life. After moving to Unity, Saskatchewan, she met Bill, whom she married in 1964.  Throughout her career, Anna held various positions from office work and housecleaning to a stint at a fish processing plant in Victoria, BC.  She returned to her true passion, nursing, working at the Chilliwack General Hospital and later at Mount Edwards in Victoria, where she concluded her career.

Beyond her professional life, Anna was a master of hobbies that included, gardening, baking, sewing and crafting. She was also an avid player of shuffleboard and relished cruising around the world with Bill, exploring new cultures and landscapes.

Anna’s memory is cherished by her loving husband, Bill, her children, Paul (Jennifer) and Marilyn (Dan) and her grandchildren Jacob (Aluna) and Bailey (Joel). She is also survived by her great-grandsons Dominic and Willow, as well as brothers-in-laws, Ken and Gerry, and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Anna was predeceased by her parents, Sigurd and Lillian Sand, along with her brothers Paul and Ralph.

A celebration of life will be held at the Ladysmith Legion on August 4th, 2024 at 1pm, in lieu of flowers, contributions maybe made to the SPCA or the Canadian Heart Foundation, both causes close to Anna’s heart.  Anna’s legacy of care, laughter and love will continue to inspire all who know her, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

The family of Anna would like to thank Dr. Swamy, staff at LaRosa Gardens for making her last years so happy, and her home care aides for the wonderful care they provided to Mom, especially Val and Rhoda.
