Peacefully on October 22, 2018, Leanne passed into the loving arms of her Mom and Dad at the age of 58. She was predeceased by her Mother Ev and her Father Ken.
She is survived by her brother Larry (Tracy), sister Lynne Ritz (Stan), brother Lorne (Lynda), and younger sister Laureen Dagneault (Daryl). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews all who loved her dearly.
Leanne was born in Victoria and loved her life, especially the holidays, Christmas being the favourite, when the house was decorated inside and out with many award-winning displays, Halloween following a close second for the costumes and treats, but was closely rivalled by her birthdays when she got her favourite meal, Colonel’s Chicken.
She had a passion for music, playing Barry Manilow tunes for hours on her portable player and the movie, Wizard of Oz. Being a West Coast girl, playing street hockey with her siblings, playing with her dogs and fishing in the boat with her dad were things she loved to do.
Later in her life, she was introduced to the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association, where she learned to ride and met her best horse buddy, Cisco.
Leanne’s medical challenges were throughout her life, yet irrespective of the doctor’s opinions, she just kept going, enjoying life and people while defying the odds. She had a huge heart, great courage and a rare intelligence that saw through the exterior of people and into their inner goodness.
She came into this world, and there
She lived to teach us how to care.
Her siblings will honour her with a Celebration of Life in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association (VTRA.CA).
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Chris & Peter Haring Laureen, Daryl and family:
Leanne was always a sweetheart whenever visiting your Mom’s and Dad’s home. She would immediately say hello and have a smile on her face. In Leanne’s own way, she showed that life has it’s challenges but you learn to work around them and enjoy what you do have. Leanne’s sweet smile will be missed by all.

Leanne was indeed a truly special person, with a heart of gold and a smile that could light up a room. For the past ten years while Leanne lived with Tracy and Larry she became a big part of our lives as well, and we grew to truly love her very much. We looked forward to our Sunday dinners when Leanne would run to greet us and give the best hugs! And we especially loved when she would get out her guitar for everyone’s birthday so she could accompany the singing. We miss her tons! You were lucky to have such a special sister and we know that her passing will leave a void in your lives.
Our deepest sympathy

Sorry to hear of Leanne’s passing. She did defy the odds, in no part due to the love and attention of her mom and dad and the rest of her amazing family. I can recall the many times down at the “Beachcomber” when Leanne would visit my late wife Marion and I along with “my dog bam bam”.Her talking watch would let us know when she was near. A conflict with another service will prevent me from attending hers but my thoughts will be with you. Take Care.
