After over 96 years of life filled with love for her family and life itself, our Mom, Gramma, and Mamere left to be with our beloved Dad, Jack, on November 20, 2018.
Laurette Florence Shuttleworth (née Bouchard) was born on August 1, 1922 to Samuel and Yvonne Bouchard in Legal, Alberta where she was raised with 4 sisters and a brother. Jack and Laurette lived in Edmonton as a young family then moved to Camrose and finally Victoria in 2002, then moved to Berwick House in 2004.
Laurette is survived by daughter, Deedrie Ballard (Jim Zoellner); son, Glen (Terry) Shuttleworth, Princeton, BC; grandchildren, Cory (Madone), and Nicole Pelan, Kelly Shuttleworth (Nelson); son-in-law, Rick Pelan (Susan Heffernan) Roberts Creek, BC; and great-grandchildren, Paris Pelan (Victoria) and Indra Shuttleworth of Nelson, BC.
At their wish, their ashes will be spread in the beautiful Pacific Ocean at a family celebration in Hawaii at a later date. A tree will also be planted in their honor in San Carlos, Mexico.
Rest in Peace, sweet Mama…..
We would like to thank most wholeheartedly all the wonderful staff of Unit 1 for the kind and gentle care of Mom over the 3 years she resided there. She loved each and every one of you.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Laurette Shuttleworth. She was a great lady
and wonderful friend when in Camrose. I was able to visit once or twice when I had
been in Victoria, sometimes with a phone call, but missed connecting the last time
about a year and half ago. I have often thought of her lately wondering how she was.
