Orin & Shirley Grovum We very much appreciated being able to listen in and watch Klaus’ memorial service this afternoon. He was a special friend to me back in late 1969, and 1970. He encouraged me to get a firm hold on this Faith that is eternal. We had many spiritually encouraging times, and many adventures (including the one that Jim mentioned above).
It was through Jim that Klaus and I came to meet Yehia, and then his wife Seham – also very special friends. It was about this time of year, that we were on hand to help welcome Yehia’s wife to Canada, and it was her first time to see snow!
May the family take comfort in Klaus’ unshakeable faith in an Eternal future.

Rest in Peace Mr Klaus Bohn

Jim Atcheson Almost 52 years ago Klaus (& Orin Grovum) and I travelled to Europe together and I got to see the house where Klaus was born, and we had time with his relatives in Oldenburg. Since that time, I’ve had a number of years in the Moose Jaw when Michael, David & Tammy were young and then I got to know Bev & Brian and the rest of the family. I’ve been left with many special memories of those friendships that have survived the years. We think of each of you and of you Francine and beg that all of this can be a rich experience for everybody.

Mitch Hippsley Klaus’s passion for his craft was truly infectious & played a big role in getting my career off the ground. His teachings were a huge influence in helping Geraldine & myself open our Yorkton studio in 1984.
Although, the world has changed drastically in so many ways I reflect back on great times with him, Francine, Brian, David, Michael & Tammy, where we shared many good times together.
We were the best of friends on a professional level & he influenced me in VERY many ways in the world of photography! When Klaus moved to beautiful B.C. it was very difficult to stay in touch, BUT memories cannot be erased & I reflect with warm fondness.Geraldine & I wish to express our very sincere condolences to each & everyone of you on his passing.
Lastly,
Klaus always had some insightful words to express to me and now I would like to leave you with a little something……….
” the most successful person you will meet is the person who finds happiness, joy & appreciation in every day they live”
our LOVE to you all
Geraldine & -MITCH- Hippsley

Morris Grovum Dear family,
You will all know that Klaus and I have each valued the same, “like-precious-faith” for over 55 years. I partially attribute to Klaus where I am now, here in Viêt Nam sharing the *good news” with these wonderful Vietnamese people. Klaus always encouraged me to keep filling the privileged place that I have. My co-worker and I really appreciated having Klaus visit us in the country of Laos about ten years ago. We had a great time exploring the country on motorbikes. Klaus probably didn’t tell you about the one ‘spill’ that he had! Good memories have to be arranged for ahead of time; I have many. I trust that you all will have many good memories also.
Morris Grovum

Stephen Cochrane Kind thoughts and regards to family members through this time of “goodbye” to Klaus. The many good conversations on both natural and spiritual topics and time spent together are treasured memories and missed will be that there is no further opportunity for more, a good reminder to make the most of what we have while we can.
Thanks to Gordon and Bev, I met Klaus in Victoria one evening while having dinner with the family during the Christmas Holiday season in 1990 or 1991. From that time forward, Klaus and I communicated periodically, sharing perspectives and after he moved to Vancouver Island, occasionally we spent time together. I am grateful that our paths crossed.
A friend,
Stephen Cochrane

Sheila Stephen Dear Bev and Gordon, I am thinking of you all. It was fun to see how much Klaus enjoyed Dubai. I will keep that memory. I’ll be with you from a distance on the 8th and will talk to you soon after. Love Sheila

Willis Turner I have many fond memories spend in the Bohn home in Moose Jaw when Michael, David and Tammy were young. I spent a few of my days off helping paint their home on the acreage while listening to Klaus share his dreams for the property.
I traveled with Klaus to Calgary for two different weekend workshops and also had the enjoyable experience of Klaus photographing me at my place of work. He was truly a master behind the lens. He had an undeniable passion for his work and a gift for sharing his vision. Klaus had a profound influence on me that I will never forget.
To Michael, David and Tammy, I’m sorry for your loss. Cherish your memories and may you find some sweetness in them through the dark days.
-
Karen Day Thinking of you all! I many fond memories of Klaus at their place near Moosejaw and all the photos he took of my family in the 90’s! I have thought about him often because he said to me, “that family picture will become an heirloom piece of furniture!” It hangs above my bed yet and I still love it!
-
Merlin Affleck Nice memories of Klaus & Francine and Michael, Tammy & David during my first year in the ministry. Their home was a refuge and Klaus was always positive and encouraging. With appreciation, Merlin

Lois, Reg Welsh We were saddened to hear of Klaus’ passing. I grew up with Klaus and his family and mine shared many good times as well as difficult times. I have many memories of him when we were growing up, in high school and later in Saskatoon. He was so much fun and there were always a lot of girls around him.
Though I had little contact with him, other than high school reunions, after he left Moose Jaw, he always had a spot in my heart.
My condolences to you, Brian, and his children. I know he will be missed very much.He is probably taking pictures in Heaven, and will be just as good a salesman there as he was here. RIP
-
Janet (Findling) Warner My sincere condolences to Klaus’s family, Brian & Bev. Klaus was a childhood friend. My sister & I played with him. We would tease him that he wouldn’t speak English so we had no choice but learn German from him! Lots of teasing and fun. So proud to have known such a talented photographer and artist, and regrettably he has been taken much too early!
-
Doug and Cathy Marr Our home is filled with much of his work…..May he Rest in Peace! Will attempt to reach Brian in MJ . D

Janice (Thompson) Anderson Very sorry to read of this sad news. We have many memorable photos that Klaus took of our family at his Moose Jaw studio. My favourite photo is of my sister Carla when she graduated from Crane Valley High School in the spring of 1978. Sadly, she passed away soon after. Klaus also took our wedding photos in Crescent Park on Aug. 6, 1983. Fortunately, we also had shots taken at the air conditioned studio that day, as it was 43 degrees Celsius! Klaus had a gift for making all of his patrons feel at ease when the camera was pointed at them. He leaves a legacy of cherished memories for many people.
-
Dr. Yehia El-Ibiary Klaus is a great man and very dear friend. He and Orin Grovum are my first friends in Canada 51 years ago. He always made me laugh. I am glad I got to see him few years ago when he visited me and my wife in South Carolina. I will miss him a lot, also all his friends and family. May you rest in peace dear friend.
-
Stanley Larson The journey is over for Klaus. He has gone home. No more tears and sorrow. Will be thinking of you all together on the 8th.

Dan & Marsha McCormick Our dear friend, Klaus, has finished the race!
We first met Klaus in 1977 when we all lived in Moose Jaw. With time & changes we moved to Victoria and visited often with our friend, Klaus. Our last visit with Klaus was in Jan ‘20. At that time after hearing we were once again in Moose Jaw he told us he wanted to come back to Moose Jaw with us.
He always shared thoughts that meant the most and had a real sparkle in a visit!
We know each of us will miss this true friend & especially the family!!
Our thoughts are with you all!!
Love,
Dan & Marsha McCormick
Dear Bev, just heard today that Klaus had passed and I was so glad you put the video of his funeral on the website…
I am very sorry for your loss, I loved spending time with Klaus, as his caregiver/companion at Broadmead Lodge…
I have such fond memories of Klaus and his “fiesty” ways but get him smiling and you captured his heart…I am so glad I met him through Bonnie and you…
He was yes, “one of a kind”
Sincere Regards, Trude 🙂
