With broken hearts we announce Keoni Reamus Wilson’s unexpected passing on May 18, 2021. He was diagnosed with heart burn and five days later Keoni lost his precious life to severe complications resulting from acute pancreatitis, which is extremely rare for children. His ambitious dreams were cut short at the age of 17, one month before he was going to graduate with endless possibilities of a promising future.
Keoni was born on August 1, 2003. He was gifted with an enormous smile and the biggest heart. When he was a toddler his quest for knowledge was unmatched. Even as he grew, he was able to spark and uphold an intelligent conversation with almost anyone. When he was 6 years old in grade 1, Keoni was privately tested academically and his results were off the charts.
They did mention that he had developed a higher vocabulary than most adults. His loving, passionate and caring character led us to believe he was an old soul. As a teen, Keoni grew into his ‘biggest smile in the room,’ coupled with the most infectious laugh that you could ever hear. Each of his hugs was an abundance of love that would always be followed by joy, laughter and happiness. In his 17 years of life, you can easily see how Keoni became a best friend to many and loved by everyone who gave him a chance.
He was beautifully natured, caring, passionate, well-mannered with a loyal soul. He had an amazing sense of humour and was the best conversationalist one could wish for. Keoni excelled with art on a profound level. He had an immense gift. He impressed anybody with his drawings and sketches. Any medium – he would master it. He loved his music. Countless times, he would go for drives with his Mum, share playlists and have the longest talks. If you were lucky enough, late at night, you could hear Keoni singing to his favourite ballads. He had the voice of an angel. He was a Gentle Giant with such a sensitive heart and soul. He would’ve been an amazing husband and father in his future. Anything that Keoni put his mind to, he would’ve excelled at in his future.
He will be profoundly missed by his parents Reamus and Lisa; siblings Leilani and Tyler; grandparents Marjorie, Randy, Nana Sandra and Gordon; great-grandmother Louise; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A private viewing was held in the Sequoia Centre, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:30AM. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 12:30PM with a Graveside Interment Service followed at Royal Oak Burial Park. A recording of the funeral service can viewed by clicking on the image below.

Sandra Jane West I cannot find words that are adequate enough to express how much I miss my beautiful Keoni, and the regrets of times missed with him due to Covid. We had so many plans post grad, like travel, but he never would have expected much. He was so intelligent and capable, and I am sure he would have continued his education. I was so proud of him. Such a sweet soul and he will be hugely missed. The Memorial Service put on by his fellow students and Mr. Palahicky at St. Andrews was so very impressive and special; thank you for that. We are left with precious memories and photos.
So much love always my dear Keoni. Nana Sandra

Sarah Gray Dear Reamus and Lisa, Leilani and Tyler, Marjorie, Randy, Nana Sandra and Gordon and all other family and friends,
It is with profound sadness that I have learned of Keoni’s passing. I have worked as a staff member at Camp Imadene and over the years have had countless interactions with Keoni. He was such a joy to interact with and each year I was impressed to watch him mature and grow into such a wonderful young man. His laughter and enthusiasm for camp activities were always so fun to witness and he was always one of those campers who wanted to chat and get to know me and the other staff. I can picture him chatting, smiling and enjoying life…. I hope that similar memories remain clear in your minds for years to come. The camp community will miss him, myself included.
May he rest in peace.
Keoni’s spirit and energy lives on in my heart everyday. He is dearly missed and cherished by all the students who were blessed by his friendship and presence. He always bought a light to the darkness of my world, keeping my spirits high. I miss him everyday. Rest in Paradise Keoni.
