Ken passed away peacefully on March 3, 2008 at Glengarry Hospital where he had resided for the past five years. Ken was born in Forget, Saskatchewan on December 24, 1915, one of seven children, all of whom have predeceased him. He is also predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Helga. Ken is survived by his two children, Ron Gamey (Nancye) of London, England and Irene Edwards (Doug) of Victoria, as well as his sister in law, Margaret LeFrancois and brother in law, Nels Franzen. Ken is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Tyler Gunton (Sean), Becki Edwards (Matt) and Melissa Edwards, as well as many nieces and nephews particularly from the McGinnis family. Ken will always be remembered as a hard working, generous man who was very proud and supportive of his family. The family will cherish all of the wonderful memories of times spent together.
The family wishes to thank the Glengarry staff on ‘Chandler A’ who cared for Ken and extended warmth, tender care, humour and kindness beyond the call. These dedicated people on ‘Chandler A’ became like an extended family to us all. We are extremely grateful for everything that was done to make Ken’s final years as pleasant as possible.

Thank you for always being there “Dad and Grandpa”. You will be sorely missed, but will live on in our hearts and memories forever. We love you very much!
