Kelly passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022 in Victoria, BC, after a long battle with MS.  She was born on May 30, 1961 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Kelly is survived by her parents, John & Eva Wenzel, her brother Kirk (Susan), sisters Karla, Kyra (Chris) and Kim, and many other family and friends. She will be missed by all.

Kelly moved to Victoria with her family when she was 4, where she grew up and lived her life.  She loved painting, travel, photography, bowling, and making specialty cakes for her nieces and nephews’ birthdays.  Mostly, Kelly loved her family, and her heavenly father, she was a devoted Christian. Kelly’s infectious smile was prominently displayed on many posters, signs and web pages for Nigel House where she lived and was supported for many years of her life.

Our family would like to thank the residents and staff at Nigel House, who, over those years, provided care, comfort and love to Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nigel House (part of the Broadmead Care Society family of care homes) at https://www.broadmeadcare.com/nigel-house-donations/

A joint Celebration of Life will be held at the Colwood Church – 2250 Sooke Rd. Victoria, BC – on July 9, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00pm for both Kelly, and her mother, Eva, who passed away May 5, 2023.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I am so saddened to hear of Kelly’s passing. A true and loving friend. What fun and many adventures we had in school and into our adult lives. I think of you fondly and I always miss the traditional visit and opening of the boxed “special” gift between you and my Barry at Christmas time. My deepest condolences to the Wenzel family. Kelly, may you rest in peace with the Lord.

To John, Kirk and the entire Wenzel family.
I am saddened to hear of Kelly’s passing and your recent loss of Eva.
I recall many years ago of league bowling with Kelly & Rosie, both from legendary families around Mayfair Lanes.
I later enjoyed seeing Kelly faithfully in attendance at Saanich Baptist and fondly remember our visit at Nigel as her MS progressed. Kelly would often speak of her love of driving her brown civic and looked forward to the day she would drive again. I don’t know if she’s driving but I’m confident she is walking and fully restored through her depth faith and love for her Saviour.
Until we meet again my dear friend.

I’m glad to see that Kelly is now in her heavenly home.
She coped amazingly well with what MS did to her.
It was amazing to see her always smiling, in spite of all her health issues.
I remember Kelly helping with AWANA at SBC back many years ago.
I’m glad you used this nice picture of her.
Presumably she will look beautiful like this when we meet her again in heaven.
    Blessings,
    Jan George

As a former classmate and friend of Kelly’s, I am saddened to hear that Kelly has left us. She was a beautiful person and always upbeat, even though she was dealing with MS. Although she will be missed by family and friends, we are comforted that she will now be with her Heavenly Father without pain and discomfort. Her beautiful smile will continue to shine. My condolences to the Wenzel family for their great loss.

I remember spending time with Kelly and her family years ago when we lived in Victoria, I still remember that smile she always had, even though it’s been years.
Glad she has no more pain, and I will always remember the time spent there with all the families.
Riding in Uncle Johns big purple Ford with the five cousins and me…lol.
