It is with sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Keith Edwin Jenken, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. On April 21, 2023 Keith left us to join his predeceased parents, Arnold and Matilda Jenken as well as his sister Carol.
Keith was born on February 27, 1948 in Winnipeg Manitoba. Keith spent most of his career in the mining industry as a Senior Maintenance Planner. He was a dedicated worker who took pride in his work. However, it was his love of music that truly defined Keith. He was often seen playing his guitar whether he was performing for a crowd, sitting on the beach, or simply on the couch watching the game. Keith had a special talent for writing and playing his own songs and his wife Sylvia, his partner of 50 years was his Biggest fan and supporter and will forever be his devoted groupie.
Keith was a car enthusiast as well as an avid reader who enjoyed history, politics and the world around him. In his retirement he loved engaging others in spirited debates and discussions, showing his quick wit and sharp intellect.
Above all else, Keith was a kind hearted, loving husband, and father with a fantastic sense of humor. He passed his kindness and wicked sense of humour onto his children, Athena and Colin. Keith was also a proud grandfather to Mila and Eva never missing an opportunity to make them laugh.
Keith is survived by his wife, Sylvia Jenken (nee Hopf), his daughter Athena, son Colin, granddaughters Mila and Eva and his sister Ardele Karaganis (nee Jenken).
Keith will be missed by those who knew him. Keith’s music, kindness and sense of humour will live on in the memories of those who loved him. He will be missed dearly. Rest in peace Keith.
