June was predeceased by Henry, the love of her life in 2009, she missed him immensely. June had 7 children; 24 grandchildren; dozens of great grandchildren.
June came to Canada by ship from England in 1948 with her parents, brother and sister at age 18. She was very sad to leave her boyfriend behind; only to find out my Dad had flown to Canada ahead of them and surprised her. He met them at the immigration’s office and asked her to marry him. June was very proud to become a Canadian citizen in 1983 (but she never lost her English accent).
Some of mom‘s fondest years were taking care of her grandchildren and hanging out with them. June loved to feed her wild birds. Once Dad passed away, she loved to go to the lake on the weekends, RV, watch the ducks, and enjoyed watching people have fun out on the water.
June went into a care home a year ago, within two weeks she loved every minute of it mainly because of the wonderful staff. She would say they treated her like the queen.
Nan enjoyed making people laugh right to the end, with her dry sense of humour and wit. If you loved Nan, you got it back 10-fold.
Nan will be greatly missed by all that loved her.
