Jose, age 85, passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital on May 6, 2019. He was Born to Joao Vales and Laurentina Correia on June 16, 1933 in Vila Franca Do Campo in São Miguel Açores Portugal and was the youngest of 3 children. Jose was a man who loved his family first and foremost, The Catholic Church, and the Country that gave him every opportunity to succeed; Canada.
Jose is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maria Octavia Vales; daughters, Ana and Cidalia (Terry); sons, Albert (Doris) and Danny (Meghann); grandchildren, Elissa, Krystle, Connor, Teagahn, Liam, Mattias and Declan; great-grandchildren, Emanuella, Caynin, Grayson, Hadley, and William Jose.
His hobbies included fishing, gardening, and watching his grandchildren play.
The Vales family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire Staff at Victoria General Hospital for their attentiveness and loving care in Jose’s final days.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish on 4635 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria, BC. Burial to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.
