John Ken Jang, aged 64 years old, passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on August 14, 2019. John was born on October 10, 1954 in Duncan, BC, where he lived for over 15 years running his own shoe repair business, handed down by his father. He later sold his business to move to Chemainus to operate a family run grocery store and then moving back to Duncan and then to Victoria to be near his children. John was a very talented shoe repairman. He also enjoyed making anything from leather which included belts, satchels, and many other items. He also enjoyed talking to his friends on his CB radio, riding motorcylcles, driving cars, teaching both his children how to drive standard vehicles. He is survived by his wife May, his daughter Jeannette, and his son Steve.
Visitation will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Thursday, August 22 from 5-7pm. Please join us in remembering John. Graveside Service will be on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 10am at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive.

Bing Jang and family John was a good brother and uncle. He always made us laugh out loud and had such a great sense of humour. He was talented, generous, and kind. He left us much too soon, but he will never be forgotten. Our sincerest condolences to his loving family, May, Steve, and Jeannette, in this time of reflection on John’s life. We are truly sorry for your loss.

John loved talking to people and was very good at it. He could always make his customers laugh. Especially the little old ladies. He was also good with his hands, was a handyman and I think he was also a bit of a perfectionist.we will miss him.
