John passed away at Victoria Hospice on October 15, 2021 after a battle with cancer. After his birth at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC, John’s family moved to Victoria, where he grew up. John was active in the Catholic Church and loved to travel. One of his favourite hobbies was photography, and friends could count on him to chronicle their important events. As a computer expert, he helped his family and friends set up and maintain their electronic devices. He will be deeply missed by his parents, John and Eva, his sister Mary (Rod), his brother Stephen (Connie) and two nephews, Evan and Ryan. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish, 2060 Haultain St, Victoria, BC, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 12:10 pm. Reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

wes umphrey Eva and John, I was sorry to read about your son’s passing. I will always remember him as a young man starting out and coming to work with me in the Surveyor of Taxes Office. Even then, he was skilled in computers when most of us hardly knew how to turn it on. Life can be hard at times- keep you chin up.
