Tragically, Jamie was taken from us while crossing the street on his way home. He is survived by his mum, Barbara; dad, Brian; sister, Kateri; nephew, Dakota and nieces, Anya and Kya.

Jamie was born in P.E.I. but was raised and lived in Victoria from infancy. His lifelong passion was his music. An exceptionally talented guitarist, nothing gave him greater pleasure than jamming with his friends. Jamie was the best son and brother; kind, caring, honorable, loving and always cheerful. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

A service will be held with reception to follow on Thursday, July 7, at 2:30 pm at McCall’s Downtown, Johnston and Vancouver Streets in Victoria, BC.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

    Barb, Brian and Kateri,
I was just talking to Steve and he told me about Jamie. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Jamie had a infectious smile and that is the way remember him at many of the family celebrations held at your house. He is probably playing his guitar up in heaven and Grannie is up there with him doing the jig.

My condolences, so sorry about your loss. I knew Jamie in high school and he was such an outgoing and friendly guy. You would never see Jamie without Nick and John as they were the best of friends and their antics amused us all. I have been out of Victoria and haven’t seen Jamie since High school, but he was memorable. My prayers are with your family. Jamie you will be missed may you always be at peace.

Jamie was my best friend. We have been friends now for 22 years, longer than any other friendship I have had. He was my musical soulmate and truly a brother. I have no words to describe how much I will miss him. I am so thankful for him to have come into my life when he did. I am filled with so many wonderful memories of times we have spent together. Playing music will never feel the same. Jokes will never be so funny. Jamie I will miss you forever.

Jamie was such a big part of my life growing up. His friendship, sense of humour, and outgoing nature helped shape me into the man I am today. Despite the fact it had been quite a few years since my last contact with Jamie, he still popped into my mind and our shared adventures always brought, and will continue to bring, a smile to my face.

I am unable to make it to Victoria for the ceremony, but my heart will certainly be there.

3048 Munns Rd We’ve known Jamie and Kateri since Day One. Our kids grew up and played with them. And now, when we as parents should be relaxing in our “golden years”, enjoying our children’s adult lives, such a tragedy is crushing for all of us. Jamie did truly smile almost all of the time. He was smart and thoughtful. I just hoped that one day his guitar playing might lead him to great success. He won’t be forgotten. Perhaps there’s a greater plan involved and he is playing some gig in the after life. And we’ll see him again later.
