We are so very sorry to hear of Jims sudden passing. My husband Douglas and I have such fond memories of our days in Qualicum beach living in the lovely beach house that Jim was the caretaker for. Our walks to the beach together as our poodles frolicked in the water. He was so kind and thoughtful and such an animal lover. We just had a coffee together a few months ago and I cannot believe he is gone. Rest in Peace dear Jim. You will not be forgotten.

It was with great sadness I heard of the death of our amazing larger than life Canadian mate Jimmy O. I have such wonderful memories of our trips to BC with my late partner Jim Small and the great times, skiing and exploring with Jim as our tour guide as he introduced us to his country and his wide circle of friends, who welcomed us so warmly, many of them opening their homes to us. He was well loved here in Australia as well, and his trips down under were always memorable and a lot of fun.
He was a great character with a huge heart and I’m honoured to have known him. I trust he and “my Jimmy” have met up, enjoying a few brews and telling tall tales!
I offer my sincere condolences to Kathi and all those friends who loved him dearly.
Rest in peace dear friend. We’ll never forget you.

So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I have many wonderful memories of fun and crazy times with Jim. Skiing at Whistler, sailing in the San Juan’s, biking at Long Beach and visiting with his amazing Aussie friends, Jimmy Small, Marion Taylor and Robert and Joan MacAdam in Vancouver. Jim was an amazing person who always had a smile and a great sense of humour. I feel privileged to have been a friend.

My deepest sympathy to Jim’s family in his loss.
Although I have not been in contact with him since the mid 70’s, he is still very much remembered for his kindness and great personality. The initial connection was through Victoria Paving (we had a gravel truck/ski shop in those days) and had the good fortune to be invited to ski @ Whistler one fine weekend together with my family.
    He will never be forgotten.

    Dear Kathi,
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time with the loss of Jim. Jim and I were pretty close in the 1980s/90s, heading off on ski trips together and sailing on his wonderful sailboat, Talisman. Jim was one of the most generous people I ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. And later when I was a single Dad, you and Jim would often take in my golden retriever Nick so I could get away for a few days. Your kindness and generosity meant an awful lot to me, and my thoughts and prayers are with you now. If you need anything, let me know, even if it’s to take the furry companions off your hands for a day or two. Paul 250-889-4910

Jim, we had a lot of good times together back in the day and especially boating as you loved being on the water. Aways open-handed with your time with old and new friends alike, I am one of the many who will always remember you as a smiling, generous friend.
