Ivano left us after a lengthy struggle with dementia. He was born in Segromigno, Italy on October 30, 1936 and immigrated to Victoria, BC, Canada in 1962.

He was employed by the City of Victoria Public Works department for 34 years as a cement finisher and later as a foreman. He was especially proud of his work in Chinatown, Bastion Square and the restoration of Waddington Alley.

Papà’s homemade wine was the best in the city and he loved to share it with family and friends. He took great pride in his vegetable garden and enjoyed showing off his San Marzano tomatoes.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Luigina, and his daughters Mara (Silvino), Janet (Peter) and Susy (Tim H.). He loved being a Nonno to his grandchildren Jordyn (Tim S.), Isayah (Sarah), Kobe, Gisella, Stella and his great-grandchildren Joey and Franky. He also leaves behind his brother Franco and sister Liliana in Italy, as well as family and friends in both countries. We love him and miss him dearly.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Garden Chapel at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Dr, Victoria, BC on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Cool Aid Society http://www.coolaid.org/
