Gonçalves – Inácio Lopes died peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in Victoria, B.C. He was born on April 16, 1930 in Melgaço, Portugal. Beloved husband, father, brother, granddad and friend, he is survived by wife Angelina, children Maria, Margaret (Dennis), José (Liza); grandchildren Nicole, Dylan, Katie and Nicholas; brothers Alfredo (Pureza), Policarpo (Maria), sister Clarisse (Humberto) and his 17-yr old grey toy poodle, Bei-Bei. He will also be missed by many other relatives and dear friends in Canada and Portugal.
In keeping with his wishes, a private family service honouring Inácio’s life was held at Holy Cross Church on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 with Monsignor Lapierre officiating, followed by private family burial service at Royal Oak Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Sandringham Residential Care Centre, in appreciation of their outstanding care and support of Inácio and his family through a very difficult time.
