WARD – Henry Kenneth (Bill), born in Lachine, Quebec, August 2, 1914, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2002, at Heritage Woods (Birch Cottage) Victoria, B.C. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kay; sons, Ken and Don (Darlene); daughter, Margaret Hall (Clive), grandchildren; and 4 great granddaughters. Bill served with the RCNVR during World War II. Prior to and after the war, he worked for the Dominion Bridge Company and in 1948 began his career as an Engineering Technician with the B.C. Provincial Government in the Department of Highways Bridge Design office until his retirement in 1979. He was a kind and compassionate man and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Birch Cottage for the loving care that they gave Henry.
A Memorial service will be held at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson at Vancouver Street on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Woods (Birch Cottage), 567 Goldstream Avenue, Victoria, B.C. V9B 2W4.
