JANSEN, Henning Erhart passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospice on March 17, 2002 at the age of 72. Predeceased by his loving wife, Rose Irene in 1998. Henning is lovingly remembered by his children, Wendy Perry (Wayne Martinek), Alan (Debbie) and Brent (Susan); grandchildren, Alison Perry and Jake Jansen. Not to be forgotten his constant companion in his later years, his pet cat “Rocky.”
Born the youngest of 7 in Amager, Denmark, Henning spent his youth working the family vegetable farm and immigrated to Canada at the age of 19. He soon met Rose Petersen, his wife-to-be at a New Year’s eve party. They married December 23, 1951 and moved to Prince Rupert, settling in Victoria and starting their family in 1956.
