Harry James Wilson, age 95 passed away on 16 January 2024 in his home in Victoria, BC. Born in Moose Jaw, SK and raised in Saskatoon, Harry met and married Elizabeth Pedley, the love of his life, in 1948. Together, they raised four children. Harry was full of joie de vivre, finding joy in activity: canoeing, camping, hunting, sailing, golf. And fulfillment in creativity; building (anything and everything he set his mind to), carpentry, metal bending, painting, and pottery. Athletic, talented, strong, creative, capable and playful; Harry leaves us with many vivid memories to cherish and share.
The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to Doctors Ross and Tim McKay and the palliative care nurses for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers we suggest donations to the Red Cross.
Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth, his youngest daughter Kay (Kathryn Leslie) Lovett and eldest son Kip (Christopher James) Wilson. He is survived by his daughter Deborah (Larry Hildebrand) and son Scott (Rose) and grandchildren Katya and Nicholas.
Following cremation, a gathering by “invitation only” in remembrance of both Harry and Elizabeth will be held at Abkhazi Gardens, 1964 Fairfield Road, on Thursday, 25 January at 2:00 PM. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Deborah Wilson “For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems… But all these stars are silent. You-You alone will have stars as no one else has them… In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars will be laughing when you look at the sky at night. You, only you, will have stars that can laugh! And when your sorrow is comforted (time soothes all sorrows) you will be content that you have known me… You will always be my friend. You will want to laugh with me. And you will sometimes open your window, so, for that pleasure… It will be as if, in place of the stars, I had given you a great number of little bells that knew how to laugh.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry – The Little Prince, 1943.

Sandi Kim My thoughts go to family and friends. I loved hearing stories about him and even doing the odd workout together via skype when he had the strength. To have loved and know you were loved these are a greatest gift

Françoise Keating If there is a special heaven for bread makers, I imagine that’s where you will be, Harry, joining your loved ones. I believe they have good salmon fishing there, too. Thank you for your kindness and good conversation!
Much love, Francle.
With deepest sympathy for your loss,
I will always be grateful for how Uncle Harry and Aunt Else welcomed me into their home and family. (Many cups of tea, cookies and large bowls of popcorn. )
I can remember my mother remarking that Harry had found a piece of paradise when she first visited Foul Bay Rd with its breathtaking views. I am sure that Scott and Deb have many happy memories from Edmonton, however in my mind the family home was on Foul Bay Rd, where I was always welcomed.
Harry and Else valued family and took great pride and excitement in the accomplishments, passions and adventures of Kip, Deb, K, and Scott. This keen interest and pride extended to their grandchildren who were a great source of joy and pride in their retirement years.
My wish to Deb, Larry, Scott, Rose, Katia and Nicolas is you find comfort and joy in the many shared adventures, and happy times you spent with two remarkable parents/grandparents. They certainly loved the time they spent with each of you.
Sincerely yours, Thomas
