Born in Krefeld, Germany, passed away shortly after a short illness at VGH. He was predeceased by his wife Edith in 1997. Survived by his children Carolyn (Mike), Perry (Heidi) and Stephen. Also, his youngest brother Klaus and his family. He leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, along with family and friends.
Hans was a master carpenter for many years and had a hand in building many public and private buildings on Vancouver Island and in Victoria. He was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping and hunting on the island and mainland in his truck and camper.
A small celebration of Hans’ life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation in his name can be made to BC Wildlife Federation.
