Greg was the fourth of six children born to Ruth and Gerald Weston. He had an idyllic childhood growing up in Victoria in a very happy busy home. From an early age, summers spent at Rocky Mountain Boys Camp became the highlight of his year.
From childhood, Greg always had a large group of friends, most of whom became lifelong friends. He thrived on being and working with people – whether at his cafe, his work on the cruise ships, selling real estate, and finally the last 7 years starting a tour business in Victoria – which he absolutely loved.
Back in 1998, he met his future wife Anouscha – a fellow employee aboard the Saga Fjord. In 1999, they came back to Victoria to spend time with Greg’s father before he passed. He and Anouscha ultimately settled down happily in Edmonton where their 2 sons Giovanni and Kiefer were born. They left Edmonton 8 years later and after a brief stint in Kelowna ultimately were drawn back to Victoria.
Greg died peacefully after a long hard fight with cancer at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. He leaves behind his wife Anoushcha, two sons Giovanni and Keifer, stepdaughter Sissi, mother Ruth Weston and his two brothers and three sisters. He was very courageous in dealing with his illness. He wanted every moment he could squeeze out of life so as to have more time with his young sons, his wife, stepdaughter, friends, and family.
The Family would like to thank all his Doctors and the wonderful nurses – especially Suman and Misha – and all the Staff and volunteers who eased our heavy load and provided such wonderful care for Greg. Immense gratitude to Friends and Family who provided and continue to provide the love and support through this very difficult time

Jon Valentine Greg was a true gentleman, and a wonderful presence as a fellow “Oak Bay High School Alumni Association” Board of Directors member for many many years. He’d a warmth of spirit that was very infectious. As a small tribute, here’s a link to a Chek News aricle, in which he’s interviewed at the 0:33 mark of the video clip, and appears near the end…
