It is with deep sadness that we announce Gerry’s passing. Predeceased by his beloved mother, Alice Ruby Fisher and father, Renn Chester Mellott. Survived by his wife, Maureen; sons, Dan and Rob Mellott; Dave and Annie Mulcahy and son, Jack; Sheila and Herb Voaklander, son Mike and daughter, Erin; as well as, Tara and Ron Hilton and son, Ryan Mulcahy.
Gerry was a kind, hardworking, honest man. He was a master gardener, an amazing cook and he possessed a great wit.
Special thanks to all at Sunset Lodge where he made his home from December 4, 2018. The family is most grateful for the care he received.
Private Family service. In Gerry’s honour, please share a smile with someone…as it just might make their day!
Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. Carl Sandburg

JUNE HARRISON We feel blessed and lucky to have been able to call Gerry a close friend for almost 36 years. Carey and I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with Maureen and Gerry over this time…at their homes, and on cruises and trips. Great memories. We had so much fun. When visiting them at home, Gerry was the consumate host. He was an amazing cook and we always felt like family. Truly, Gerry was one of the best and he will be missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Maureen and family.

Owen Toop Gerry, this is way too soon. I had the pleasure of working with you in the early 1980s, on the Tumbler Ridge project. I was always impressed by your warm personality and capable manner. You are one of the good ones. God speed!

I am sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing. He was always kind and supportive to me during his time in Metchosin and the best Clerk Administrator ever. He was a true gentleman, with a sharp and funny wit.
