SCHMIDT, Georg Paul
January 25, 1933 – November 11, 2022
Passed away peacefully Friday November 11, 2022. Born January 25, 1933.
Predeceased by his wife Fritzi in 2012; Georg is survived by his sons, David (Jenny) and Sidney; grandchildren, Jessica and Martin and his sister Ingrid Korner.
Georg was a major influence in the lives of all his family and he will be greatly missed. He had a wonderful fulfilling life and missed Fritzi over the last 11 years greatly, being married for almost 50 years.
Being born in, and surviving, the bombing of Hamburg Germany, moving to Winnipeg when he was 20, moving to Vancouver, opening Georg and Bernie’s Volkswagen repair, meeting Fritzi, all their sailing adventures, becoming district service manager of Volkswagen Canada, moving to Sidney, building several boats that the family lived on, moving to Port Alberni and finally ending up at The Legion Manor in Saanichton, meeting all the wonderful friends along the way, he would always say “What more could I ask for?”.
