Evelyn passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Sidney, B.C.
She was born on August 30, 1926 in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan.
Small in stature but large in feistiness, she started her career as a teacher in Manitoba and continued in the Yukon Territories. After teaching, she worked in the airline industry in the Yukon where she met her husband, “Kelly” working as an aircraft mechanic.
Both retired to Qualicum Beach, B.C. and on his passing, she moved to Sidney, BC after a brief return to Manitoba. Smart, independent and sharp-witted, she thrived on Vancouver Island to her final days enjoying the daily phone calls with her brother, Lyn.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Gerald “Kelly” Connelly; parents, Albert and Dorothy Marlow; brother, John Marlow and sister-in-laws, Sharon and Helen Marlow.
Surviving Evelyn are her brother, Lynden Marlow; nephew, Thomas Marlow {Heather}; grand-nephews, Ryan, Erik and Lyle; Frank Marlow {Roberta}; grand-nephews, Justin and Dawson and grand-niece, Alexis; Walter Marlow {Jackie}; grand-niece, Jordana and grand-nephew, Brett; Don Marlow {Brigitte}; Scott Marlow {Jennifer}; grand-nephew, Braeden; niece, Lori Marlow {Domenic Granata} and grand-niece, Sheila.
The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and nurses for their wonderful care at Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
Evelyn’s wish was that no service be held.
In lieu of flowers, Evelyn has asked that donations be made to the Women-in-Need Society of Victoria, B.C.
