Evelyn passed away peacefully in Victoria with her family close by. Predeceased a year ago by her husband Allastair, she leaves sons David (Erdi) and John (Joan), grandchildren Aaron (Mara), Matthew and Katie Ellen, great grandchildren Alexandra and Isabel. The eldest of 8 children, she grew up in Halifax where she met her husband-to-be Allastair, an RCN sailor, in 1940. They were married in September of 1941. After the war they moved to Victoria to raise their family and in the following years welcomed all of her siblings to the West Coast. In 1964 Eve and Al moved to Kamloops where she was part of the team that opened the new Woodward’s store there and also in Prince George. She made many good friends in Kamloops before retiring to Metchosin with Al in 1983. She is survived by her brother Glen (Cathy) Lockhart, sister Marion (Mike) Carroll, in-laws Ian Humphries, Jack (Delma) Humphries, Elaine Lord, Helen Lockhart, Peter Meservia and many nieces and nephews. Eve will be fondly remembered by all who knew her as a very caring, generous person who graciously reached out and encompassed her family and many, many others. She enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music and loved dancing, especially with Al. Walking on the beach and being in nature always gave her great joy. The family wishes to thank Dr. Dan O’Connell, Dr A. Ross, the staff at VGH 7AS and the staff at Eagles Bluff Lodge for their kind and compassionate care of Eve.
