Eileen passed away peacefully, at home, on November 19, 2021, with loved one’s present. She had a short encounter with pancreatic cancer and is now free from her year long journey with mixed dementia.

Eileen was predeceased by her wonderful husband, Lloyd, in 1995, brothers (Ray, Norman, Alvin, Eric and Bruce) and her younger sister (Lorna).

She leaves to mourn her beloved children Laura (John) Soles, Melvin (Emiline) and Wayne (Heather). Her treasured grandchildren Caroline, Melinda, Andrew, Jasmine, and Stephanie will miss her. Mom also recently met her first great granddaughter, Allie, and enjoyed their time together.

Mom was an amazingly resilient woman who overcame many obstacles in her life. She was also fiercely independent, but would do anything to help others. She is now at peace.

The family would like to thank all those friends who have been such a support to them as we helped Mom finish her life’s journey in peace.

Dear Laura, Melvin, Wayne and family, my deepest and heartfelt condolences to you as you continue your lives as Eileen would wish. She was a very dear and sensitive woman who I was honoured to meet in a Hospice Bereavement Support Group held in early 1997. We made a very deep and abiding friendship as we both grieved the losses of our beloved spouses and clung to life and each other. We shared a lot through the years and I enjoyed every moment we spent together whether in person, on the telephone or in letters and cards received. I am grateful to you as a family for providing the loving arms, care and ice cream Eileen needed as she passed her last days, weeks, months and years. I know that leaving you would have been very hard for her as she knew so personally what death and loss meant to those who were left ‘behind’. And yet, she knew what she was going towards and she is now at peace. Your beautiful celebration of her life and loves is a true testament to all that she cared so deeply for and what she overcame in her own life. She was a very special woman and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful mom/mother in law, grandmother and friend. I will miss not having her in our world and yet her very special way of being and friendship gives me peace, love, joy, and gratitude. To all her family and friends I wish happiness and celebration for all she has gifted you. Rest in peace Eileen and thank you. Sharon Bearpark

The best neighbour a girl could have. Eileen always looked out for me. She tolerated my 2 puppies barking and, she would say “hey they don’t bother me”. We also got to call Darcy & Mindie Lea ‘THE KID’s. I was never in want for Broad Beans in the summer and Strawberry’s all summer long.
Eileen always thanked me for being a good neighbour BUT, she was unselfish, never asking for help always giving of HERSELF. This memories of this wonderful woman are set deep in my heart and as I think of her often, I have a smile and feeling of warm nests surround me. GOD I LOVED THAT WOMAN AND SEND MY LOVING THOUGHTS TO ALL OF HER FAMILY.
    LOVE STEPHANIE.
