Our beautiful Mom, a woman of strong Christian Faith, has gone to meet her Lord and Saviour. Mom passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 11th at the age of 102. She was predeceased by two infant children, her husband of 72 years, (2009), and granddaughter Ingrid (2019). She leaves to mourn five children, Erna (Ken), Solfrid (David), Ruth, Henning (Torunn) and Kirsti (John), seven grandchildren, Lisa, Jennifer, Shaun, Adrian, Kristoffer, John-Erik and Kari. Mom was further blessed with ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
In 1956, Mom and Dad with family immigrated from Norway and settled on Salt Spring Island where they designed, built and operated Park Drive Guest House for over 20 years. Later they operated Solvang Bed and Breakfast before retiring to Victoria. Mom loved entertaining and ballroom dancing. She walked several kilometers most days and traveled extensively. Her hands were never idle, if she wasn’t cooking she was working on Japanese Bunka embroidery or knitting. She was a long-time member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway. Mom’s love, grace and strength have been an inspiration to all of us and will be etched in our hearts forever.
Sincere thank you to Dr. K. Wylie, Home Care Nurse Nicole and her team for their wonderful support. Special thank you to friend Wendy who could always be depended on in a pinch.
Celebration of Mom’s life was held on March 4th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at McCall Garden Centre, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC. Zoom Link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83563512605?pwd=RGhCOGlYQjg1NHZOdGVZelZKMXZKZz09

Roy og Anne-Marie Sætermo My and our condolences go to an aunt Edel whom we visited 7 times in Canada, and who we also visited several times in Norway. A wonderful person that we all loved so much. She had everything, she was always in a good mood, she always cooked wonderful food, and she was a wonderful person, full of love for everyone around her. We will miss Aunt Edel greatly, but at the same time carry on all the good memories of her ❤️❤️

Lynda Rosemus My condolences go out to the family of such a wonderful lady. I did not know her personally but through her daughter Solfrid (Sophie) I heard about Edel. I met Sophie at Sprott Shaw Business school in 1959-1960. I remember her getting her first job at Victoria Coach Lines. My name then was Lynda Sage.I am sure the family carry on many traditions set out by their parents and proud of their heritage from Norway.
Hvil i fred kjære tante. ❤️
