Bob was born in Victoria, B.C. and grew up in Nanaimo, B.C.  He attended the University of British Columbia and later the University of Alberta where he graduated in 1963 with a degree in Dentistry.  After graduating he practiced the profession  he loved in Victoria from 1963 – 2007.  During this time Bob served on local, provincial and national dental association boards.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Malpass´s passing. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. He was my first dentist when I moved to Victoria in 1982. He was such a gentle soul. He really listened to my history of going to the dentist and my anxiety. It was a sad day when he retired and I remember bumping into him downtown it was so nice chatting with him. Rest In Peace.

    Dear Lynda,

Very much regret not being able to attend Bob’s Celebration on June 5 (quarantined with Covid).

Want to say how much I miss Bob’s friendship and mentorship and well remember your warm welcome to Victoria, and into your home, some 52 years ago.

Bob was a valued colleague to many of us as we all tried to model ourselves after him.

Warm wishes to you and your family.

    To Linda and family,

So sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. I first met Bob in Grade 6 and played basketball with him throughout the remainder of our school years. Bob was our star centre, although he stopped being the tallest on the team well before we graduated from high school! If possible, we will try to be at Bob’s celebration of life on June 5th to offer our condolences in person and to meet family members and hear their stories about the accomplished and fine gentleman Bob always was — from boyhood in Nanaimo and through his impressive adult life.

    Eric (and for Carolyn too)
