Donna Lynn Moniz passed away peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital on May 7, 2022. She was born in Victoria on March 19, 1961.
Predeceased by her daughter Jennifer; she is survived by husband of 41 years Joe, children Joey (Nikki), Joshua (Kelsey) & Jessica (Matt), mother Marion, father Russell; grandchildren Noah, Brooklynn, Max, Iver, & Brody; sisters Wendy (Dave) & Juanita (Gord). She will be missed by many family members and friends.
Donna worked at Canada Post for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, travelling, swimming, gardening & mostly being with family, friends and her church community at Saanich Baptist Church.
A heartfelt thank you for all the doctors that cared for her in recent years, and the care workers and nurses that came to our home. Also, a special thank you for the loving care & kindness of the doctors & nurses at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. You all went above and beyond to make Donna comfortable.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Saanich Baptist Church, 4347 Wilkinson Road, Victoria, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Donna to The ALS Society of BC or to Project Hope.

Juanita Robertson Donna was my big sister, my example to follow and the hub of our family. She was taken too soon but God has plans for her. She is now in heaven with Jesus and Jennifer but I feel her presence and memories will continue forever. She is still watching over us from above.

Elaine Holmes I was so saddened to hear of Donna’s passing. I remember her from Central Baptist Church and Saanich Baptist Church. Doc Too often in life the nicest people are taken from us too early. Donna was a kind and thoughtful person. And a great cook! I always looked forward to the Christmas Monopoly games and those bacon wrapped water chestnuts….such great times and memories. My deepest sympathies to Joe and the family.

I can’t stop the tears from flowing as I write this, but my mind is also flooded with so many wonderful memories from so many years of being blessed by Donna. I don’t know a more caring, loving person than Donna – her heart matched only by the loving and caring heart of Joe. Donna was a beautiful soul, and will be so at home with her Savior – the only one whose love for Donna exceeds even your own. He’ll take good care of her until we see her again.
We will miss her so, but we do not grieve as those with no hope. We’ll see her soon.

John McWilliam So many great memories of family times together over the last 38 years. The words Saanich Baptist and Moniz family were synonymous for us mostly as a result of Donna reaching out and teaming up with Lorraine and Brenda to make so many great events happen. Both of our oldest boys were such great pals together as well. Donna will be greatly missed even though she has a permanent place in our hearts.
