Donald “Don” Reidie, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, at the age of 59. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

In 1999, Don met the love of his life, Elizabeth “Liz” Reidie nee Hay and they shared 25 wonderful years together. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership. Together, they raised 3 children: Stephanie, Paul and Olivia, whom Don cherished deeply. He was a dedicated father, always there to support and guide his children through life’s challenges.

Don led a life of hard work and integrity. He drove trucks for BC Moving & Storage for many years and then embarked on a career with the BC Commissionaires where he worked at the Naval Fleet School Pacific at CFB Esquimalt. In all work endeavours Don always made lifelong friends with his unique sense of humour, warm smile and strong work ethic.

Outside of his professional achievements and family life, Don was known for his quick wit, contagious laugh and a genuine warmth that drew people to him. He enjoyed softball, darts and golf, often sharing these passions with family and friends. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Don is survived by his devoted wife Liz, loving children Stephanie, Paul and Olivia. Pre-deceased by his dad, Douglas Redie, and survived by his mom, Sharon Reidie, extended family, and countless friends. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his life. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and deeply missed.

A memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held on July 27, 2024, at McCall Gardens located at 4665 Falaise Dr. in Royal Oak from
10 – 12 Reception to follow.

Liz and family, I offer my condolences. Donny will be missed!

    Donny,

I want you to know that I cherrished our time working together at BC Moving. Looking back I can clearly see just how much you cared and loved your family. You quietly watched out for me and did not let me get myself into too much trouble unless there was a lesson that could be learned. Thank you for that cousin. Hind sight is always 20/20. I will always remember your cheerfulness, pranks, smile, laugh and love.

See you in the next life Donny, god speed!

To an old James Bay girl please know that this message of condolence comes from an old View Royal boy. I remember when Don was born, and enjoyed so much working with Doug.
